KKK fliers left at Selma homes on 50th anniversary of 'Bloody Sunday' 4/5

In this article, it talks about how people found KKK fliers left on their doorsteps during the 50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday". AL.com was able to speak with the grand dragon, Robert Jones, and said that around 4,000 KKK fliers were distributed throughout Selma and Montgomery during the last 2 weeks. "It's time for the American people to wake up to these falsehoods that they preach about MLK." The fliers were kept in a bag, also with a rock which acted as a paperweight. The KKK threw the fliers out randomly, anyone could get one. Jones talked about how he was not mad about the gathering to remember Bloody Sunday but rather that he and his klan were spreading the word that people are supporting a man "they don't know about." Secret Service Briefly Locks Down White House After Bomb-Sniffing Dog’s Alert and Nearby Fire 2/5

In this article, it talks about how the Secret Service put the White House in a security lockdown at around 10:15 Saturday morning. This was due to the fact that a bomb-sniffing dog became aware of a car not too far away from the White House. Several roads were closed because of this incident as well as a food vendor cart caught on fire. They are not sure if these two happenings are related. The Obama's were inside the White House at the time of this threat but were just about to leave to travel to Selma, Alabama for the 50th anniversary of the Bloody Sunday March. Later that afternoon, the car was said to not have been a threat and everyone was safe.

House vows to subpoena EPA if the agency fails again to provide requested texts, emails 1/5

In this article, it talks about how "a House committee is demanding that the EPA turn over text messages, emails, and other related documents or face subpoena request." Lamar Smith, the House House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman will make this request towards Gina McCarthy, the Environmental Protection Agency Secretary. “If EPA continues to withhold emails, text messages, and other documents from the Committee, I will have no alternative but to consider the use of compulsory process to obtain the requested documents and information,” Smith wrote.
