Republicans seek to keep pressure on Obama over VA scandal 2/3

Obama is definitely feeling the pressure from House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio and other Republicans over the mismanagement of the Department of Veteran Affairs, despite the departure of secretary of the agency Eric Shinseki. "Our veterans deserve better. We'll hold the president accountable until he makes things right.", Boehner said. According to the Wall Street Journal, Boehner never officially asked Shinseki to resign from his role even though some Republicans thought that a move like that would take the heat off President Obama. Midterm elections are looking good for the GOP due to Obama's falling popularity. Lots of lawmakers are determined to keep the focus on the VA scandal and to compare it back to other examples of what they see as evidence of mismanagement from the Obama administration. Democrats are "ready for a fight over the issue in the midterms. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/06/01/republicans-seek-to-keep-pressure-on-obama-over-va-scandal/
