Obama is definitely feeling the pressure from House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio and other Republicans over the mismanagement of the Department of Veteran Affairs, despite the departure of secretary of the agency Eric Shinseki. "Our veterans deserve better. We'll hold the president accountable until he makes things right.", Boehner said. According to the Wall Street Journal, Boehner never officially asked Shinseki to resign from his role even though some Republicans thought that a move like that would take the heat off President Obama. Midterm elections are looking good for the GOP due to Obama's falling popularity. In this article, it talks about how emails show Attorney General Eric Holder telling the Justice Department prosecutors who were critical of the department's handling of the issue of the fast and furious gun-walking scandal could "kiss my ass". The Fast and Furious was an idea made by the Bureau of Alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives to track firearms across the Southwest border. It caused political turmoil and lead to congressional investigations of the ATF and Justice Department. House Republicans demanded to see the emails and believe the idea that Holder knew that federal agents had engaged in "gun-walking." Holder was not found knowing about any of these tactics by the Justice Department. Gun-walking is where ATF agents try to track the "flow of illegal guns into Mexico".
